Volunteer
Our volunteers are an indispensable part of the Flagstaff Mountain Film Festival that provide extremely valuable energy and support. These amazing people assist us with advertising, organization of VIP ticketing, special screening events, and the like.
The Main Event
Current volunteer needs during the 2012 festival include street marketing and advertising via word of mouth, volunteers for both our Student Program Sessions and our Festival Program Sessions, people to assist with off-site events and screenings, volunteers to work the VIP table during the main event, and other varied outreach to the community.
Festival Programs
For those interested in helping prior to the main event, we also need volunteers to assist with our Student Program and our Emerging Filmmaker Program. These needs are as follows:
The Student Program consists of middle school and high school students brought to the Orpheum Theater for a specific block of documentaries. A classroom curriculum accompanies this program. Our needs for this program include fund-raising for busing students to the festival, marketing the program within the schools, sponsorship of the program, the involvement Charter schools, and four volunteers on-site at the Orpheum during the four sessions.
The Emerging Filmmaker Program is a free, after-school activity for area high-school students. Students meet once a week and learn the essentials of documentary filmmaking. What we need for this program includes solicitation to students for next year to public schools, charters and home schooled students. We would also need helping finding sponsorship for the student films.
