Patagonia ambassadors Tommy Caldwell, Hayden Kennedy, Jeremy Collins, and photographer Corey Rich head out to explore the unclimbed granite domes of Keketouhai, China’s “Little Yosemite.” What they find are big walls, a sage nomadic culture and interesting stomach bugs.

Made by 7th and 8th grade students at the STAR School, the country’s first off grid, solar/wind-powered charter school in the country, located on the edge of the Southwestern Navajo Nation.

To be 16 in Palestine today is to have one’s life dictated by curfews, clashes with soldiers at checkpoints and arbitrary arrests. This short film, a mix of real photography and animation, is made by twelve young Palestinians from Bethlehem and the Dheisheh refugee camp, with direction from Louise-Marie Colon and Delphine Hermans.

Family of the Wa’a

Kimokeo Kapahulehua is a man with a kuleana; a promise to keep. Not just to his uncle Kavika or Hawaii, but to all people and generations, past and future. His kuleana is to link the Hawaiian islands together like a lei. And for the first time in recorded history, it will be done in an outrigger paddling canoe (wa’a). Six years and 1750 miles later, he and his team find they have done more than complete their voyage to honor Kimokeo’s kuleana; they have become the Family of the Wa’a.

In 2009 British polar explorer Felicity Aston set out to create a team of women from Brunei Darussalam, Cyprus, Ghana, India, Jamaica, New Zealand, Singapore and the United Kingdom to ski to the South Pole. Offering the opportunity to anyone regardless of age, fitness or experience, she received over 800 applications from ‘ordinary’ women. The film follows the team of novices as they arrive in Antarctica and are hit by disaster—including a blizzard that destroys their tents—as well as eventual triumph.

From recycling plastic bags, to re-using glass bottles, from recycling hazardous waste to the efforts of local businesses, the film shows how every contribution, no matter how small, can collectively make the difference for a better tomorrow.
